To continuously enhance sustainability governance, the Company has established a Sustainable Development Committee under the supervision of the Board of Directors, appointed a chief sustainability officer, and designated a dedicated “Sustainability Office” to oversee and drive the Group’s sustainable development.
The Sustainable Development Committee consists of 5 to 7 members, and is chaired and convened by the chair of TCFHC. All initial members are independent directors, possessing the knowledge, skills, and qualities necessary for sustainable development. The Committee leads 6 major executive taskforces, which are corporate governance, sustainable finance, customer commitment, employee care, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. Executive vice presidents serve as conveners of these taskforces. Fach taskforce set specific and measurable short-, medium-, and long-term targets. Progress is actively tracked, and plans are modified on an ongoing basis. The Committee reports the annual sustainable development action plans and accomplishments to the Board of Directors every year. Aiming to follow a top-down systematic approach to effectively initiate sustainable developments.
The Sustainable Development Committee convenes at least once every quarter and held a total of four meetings in 2024. Agenda items included tracking the progress of annual targets and other taskforce projects, reviewing ESG-related policies and regulations, and reporting on the implementation of ethical corporate management. In addition, in 2024 the Sustainable Development Committee and 6 major taskforces reported matters concerning sustainable development to the Board of Directors 13 times in total.
